Automatic posting on Facebook Marketplace - how it works
Marketplace asks you to fill in a long form for every listing: category, condition, location and more. Anyone posting many listings spends hours on it. This page explains what the system does for you, and what it does not do.
What the system does for you
You upload photos and write a few words about what you are selling. The system fills in Facebook's fields - category, condition, location and more - and you review and approve before the listing goes up.
Posting happens from your browser and your account, through the extension. We do not hold your Facebook password.
What you can post
- Items - furniture, appliances, clothing and more, following Facebook's categories.
- Vehicles - car, motorcycle, caravan and more, with year, make and model.
- Real estate for rent - in Facebook's form in Israel, on the accounts we checked, real estate on Marketplace is for rent.
Now, scheduled or continuous
You can post now, schedule for a specific time, or choose continuous: the listing goes up once, and the system renews it every 7 days, up to 5 times - each time Facebook allows a renewal.
If Facebook does not allow a renewal at a given moment, the system waits and tries again. It does not get clever and does not work around anything.
Why renew and not post again
Posting the same listing again creates a second copy, and a duplicate is exactly what you do not want on Marketplace. Renewal bumps the same listing, with no new copy.
The system also checks for duplicates before it posts: the same type, the same title and the same price will not be created twice.
What is not promised
Facebook sets limits on the number and frequency of listings, and it changes them. So we do not promise a number of listings per day. What we do promise is that the system will not post a duplicate, and that it works at the pace Facebook allows.
Facebook's form also changes from time to time, and we update the fields accordingly.
What you need to start
- A Facebook account logged in on Chrome.
- The POSTEMA extension in a current version. Chrome updates it by itself within a few hours.
- Photos and a few words about the listing.

Do I have to post every listing by hand?
No. You upload photos and a short description, and the system fills in the form. You can also schedule, and turn on automatic renewal for listings that are already up.
